It's moving day!

Well the day has finally come and we are officially moving home. Not only is this a new home for me, but it's also an opportunity for a brand new start in life. I'm moving out of a space I associate with so many mistakes and poor living. I control who I am and who I become. So now is my chance to reshape that.

New home changes

Better money management
Quality over quantity
Eat well
Spend more time with those I love
Choose happiness

The end is near

So we've been told we can complete on our new home this week! We're very excited, stressed and tired. We're trying to think practically though. We are moving over four days with a full move at the weekend. We've used gumtree to source many of the bits we need in a view to saving serious money. I've also taken a couple of extra days off work to recouperate and relax given how much pressure this has put on my mental and physical health.

I think we will be offline for a while but once we are reconnected I want to focus on the blog again and do what I intended.

When you're a recovering luxe addict

Living well for less takes work. Particularly when you've lived ridiculously for more! I'm currently in a place where I have too much stuff and not enough money! It's not horrific yet, we pay our bills, eat well and have just bought a lovely home, but we have very little savings and some credit card debt. The masses of stuff is the worst! So the first step for us is to actually stop buying and start getting rid!! I'm paring down my wardrobe, the kids are selling or donating old toys and we are all getting rid of junk. On top of this we are using up every consumable product we own. The idea is that in doing so we can identify what we actually value in our lives. What we consider a true luxury.

A visit to the new house

We've just got back from seeing our new home again. We wanted our eldest to see it and to measure windows. The current residents who are renting from our seller are kindly leaving most curtains and blinds however we will need a few extra.

We have some ideas for the rooms, but we've bought move in ready so we won't do anything before Christmas. We will need some new beds though. Our youngest will be getting an activity bed complete with tent and slide. The two older boys are getting a bed and futon sofa (eldest lives mainly at his mothers). We are getting a standard double.

We are very excited and hoping for a move soon!

The champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget

Welcome to the blog! I'm Lady Pink, the woman who loves fine living but without the added cost. I've spent years trying to embrace frugal living but it always comes back to this. I want to live in extravagance. I just don't want to spend a lot. So I've researched my desired lifestyle and found a great solution. I buy Whistles for a fraction of the price, I eat gourmet food for less than a McDonald's happy meal and I enjoy many of life's little luxuries for nearly nothing.
I'm currently waiting to exchange on a new home so I'm hoping to channel this lifestyle into creating my family's dream home.
Today's blog is coming from my phone, but I'll be writing from my laptop very soon.
Love and kisses
